J. H. SEWARD

Hello! I am J. H. Seward, AKA Juno.

I reside in the PNW, and have worked for over 10 years as an engineer at a company that fabricates silicon devices. I often say that I pilot giant robots for a living, which is technically accurate...

I have coding experience in hardware testing, gamedev, and website development. My real passion is creating stories and music in my spare time--coding is secondary. And when I'm not doing any of that, I'm often on my motorcycle.

Coding experience: C++, Python, GDscript, Javascript, HTML/CSS

My current writing project is the Relicverse, stories centered around enchanted relics within the Kingdom of Cascalia. These relics aren't just the focus--they're the narrators, accompanying a variety of heroes on their journeys. The first story in the Relicverse is The Viridian Sphere.

I started outlining The Viridian Sphere in 2016 and decided to turn into a weekly blog-style format instead of taking the traditional novel route. The story will feature illustrations from Allison Shabet and Javascript effects to enhance the reading experience.

Tools used: Scrivener

I am half of the team for Lucky Raven Media, where we develop both arcade-style PC games as well as tabletop games.

My duties include writing code in the Godot Engine's GDScript language (versions pre-Godot used C++ and Python), and I'm in charge of music and sound effects. For tabletop work, I also develop the layout in Scribus. Visit the Lucky Raven Media site for more details on each project!

Current Projects:

Deadwinter, a post-apocalyptic arcade-style brawler

Titan Garden, a spacefaring tabletop RPG concept

Tools used: Godot Engine v3.2, Scribus

I enjoy composing music, and occasionally developed orchestral arrangements and other works since 2008, developing them digitally. My preferred VSTs are the EWQL and Output libraries. Recently I've started recording more live instruments, particularly guitar.

In 2011, I composed the music in Saxton's Six for the Saxxy Awards, a competition hosted by Valve to promote their machinima tools for Team Fortress 2. We won Best OST!

I am a classically trained cellist. I performed as part of my former university's string quartet, but did not continue live performances after college.

Tools used: Cakewalk by Bandlab (formerly Sonar), Ableton Live 11, Audacity
